BRIEF OF RACKET TECHNOLOGY

Advance technology on racket had contributed to more speed and power in badminton games and dramatically changes the players playing styles. The trend had moved towards to a more considerably lighter rackets to achieve the speed required and by using of carbon fiber materials. Players have the advantage of lighter rackets with the same swing weight as a heavier rackets. Besides that, certain advantage features like wider and stiffer frame, which able to add more stability and stiffer frames which give more power than flexible frames as the shuttlecock was hit as soon as it landed on the string bed.

HOW TO CHOOSE A RACKET THAT SUIT YOU?

It is impossible to find a racket that suits all players as each individual is difference in terms of physical and playing style. The most common mistake make by most players is to use what the professional is using or the more expensive racket. The professional succeed because of their hard work of tight training with their physical attributes and some expensive racket might not suit to all players for its own characteristic.

We basically categorize the players into 4 categories: Beginner, Intermediate, Advance and Professional. While choosing a racket for yourself, do understand your physical condition and what you are actually looking for in the racket such as power performance or control comfortableness. Below is some simple reference when making for racket selection,

If you want racket for CONTROL:
~ Lighter weight
~ Flexible shaft (good control and more maneuver but lesser power)
~ Lower balance point (275~280mm - head light feeling)

If you want racket for POWER and CONTROL (Balance):
~ Medium stiff shaft
~ Even balance point (280~285mm)

If you want racket for POWER:
~ Heavier weight (less shock and vibration)
~ Higher balance point (285~295mm - head heavy feeling and less maneuver)
~ Higher stiffness (higher strength needed to handle the racket)
